Principal, Director of Cultural Practice

Jeff is a firm principal who has more than 20 years’ experience as an architect focused on the design of museums and academic institutions. His projects have won several awards including two national design commendations from the American Institute of Architects. Jeff brings a keen interest in fostering a cooperative and creative project team and an understanding of sustainability that crosses the boundaries of architecture and building system design. He solves complex architectural programs and guides the development of projects throughout the practice. Jeff is a regular presenter on green museum design issues at MAAM’s Building Museum Conferences, ASTC and at past AAM conferences.

Don guides the programmatic and planning imperatives of each project with responsive design solutions that are site-sensitive and emphasize economy of means, quality and image. He focusses on bringing clients into the creative process so that projects reflect the character of the institution and its stakeholders. Mr. Jones also serves as Director of Sustainable Design and leads EwingCole’s team of multi-disciplinary sustainability experts.

Sarah brings over 10 years of master planning and renovation experience in cultural facilities. She is adept at leading multidiscipline project teams on complex projects, including serving as the architectural designer and project manager for several award winning exhibits at the Smithsonian Institution and the National Gallery of Art. Sarah is skilled in preserving, renovating and designing museums and cultural buildings.

Angela is a lighting designer and electrical engineer who incorporates her knowledge of emerging lighting technologies and integrated system design with her creativity and unique expression for a cohesive lighting display. She has applied these visions to various cultural venues, including utilizing innovative design techniques in exhibit display and theatrical applications. Angela couples her passion for lighting with her background in power distribution for a unified and efficient building system design. She has presented on the topic of museum lighting at numerous industry conferences including LIGHTFAIR, Lightshow East and the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums.
