EwingCole, one of the nation’s leading architecture, engineering, and interior design firms, is pleased to announce that it has been named a winner of the International Interior Design Association’s 5th annual IIDA Healthcare Interior Design Competition. This competition honors and celebrates outstanding originality and excellence in the design and furnishings of healthcare interior spaces. EwingCole was recognized in the category of Community/Academic/Teaching Hospitals, for Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

“The winners of this year’s IIDA Healthcare Interior Design Competition created exceptionally designed environments that are positively impacting the well-being of the patients treated in these facilities as well as their families and those who work there. With more research showing the link between design and positive patient outcomes, these designers are making a tremendous impact on the healthcare industry,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP.

The jury panel reviewing this year’s competition included Michelle Clark, IIDA, RID, LEED AP (Senior Associate, Rees Associates Inc.); Suzen L. Heeley (Executive Director, Design + Construction, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center); and Lisa Herriott, IIDA, LEED AP ID+C (Interior Designer, Project Manager, UW Medicine | Harborview Medical Center).
